Is redacted text really gone?
Yes. Redaction deletes the characters from the file rather than covering them, so nothing can be selected, copied or searched out.
What can I redact?
Any word or phrase you list, or regular-expression patterns when you enable that option.
Does it detect names and numbers automatically?
No. You provide the terms to redact; the tool then finds and removes every occurrence of them. There is no automatic entity detection.
